  1. Meet with your attorney to discuss the process and your financial situation.
  2. Discuss and correlate basic data.
    • Do you own your home?
    • Do you plan to keep your home?
    • How many cars do you own?
    • What is your current income?
    • Do you have unsecured debt. i.e.–credit cards and medical bills?
  3. After the basic data is received, your attorney will meet with you to review the findings.
  4. A determination is made as to if you can file a bankruptcy and what type—i.e Chapter 7 or Chapter 13.
