Tax law is covered under the Internal Revenue Code – Title 26 of the US Code, and defines the body of tax law in the United States which, is a descendent of the income tax act of 1913 through the ratification of the Sixteenth Amendment. There are 11 subtitles in the Internal Revenue Code, which contain 100 chapters on tax law. Those subtitles include: Income taxes, estate and gift taxes, employment taxes, miscellaneous excise taxes, alcohol, tobacco, and certain other excise taxes, procedure and administration, the joint committee on taxation, financing of presidential election campaigns, trust fund code, coal industry health benefits and group health plan requirements.
